I'm a Rule Breaker not a Rule Maker but it'd be nice if credit me when you use this tutorial, thanks again ♥

Today we’re going to make an icon like the Se7en ones in my previous post =D using Photoshop 7. It's quite a long tutorial and you need to have some Photoshop knowledge :D

1)First get a picture, I used this one of Mika from the Nana Movie *_* ain't she pretty...even when she's pulling the moody look XD

2)Resize the image onto your 100x100 canvas and position it where you like then select the filter menu and sharpen the image once.

It's looking pretty ugly now so we need to color it...

3)Duplicate the layer then set the blending mode as soft light.

Still looking ugly lets add the color & exclusions already!

4)After this you need to create a new layer and fill it with a color like this: 0E09D1. Set this layer to exclusion with opacity 20%. Make another layer and fill it with a light peachy skin color, this time set the blending to soft light with opacity 63% again.

That's better!

5)Then zoom up right close to your 100x100 image and take the pen tool making sure you select the paths not shape layer.

6)Carefully trace around the area you want to keep for the icon, and then in the paths tab to your right click on the icon which says “Load path as selection”

7)Press CTRL+SHIFT+I to invert the selection and on all your layers so far click delete to clear this area.

8)Zoom out back to 100% then make the background layer invisible and merge all visible layers. Next stroke the layer using these settings:

9)Using the brush by [info]yumei_k Rising Sun create a new layer and select one of the brushes to use (the one which looks best with your image ;)) in the color you want.

10)Create a new layer under the original image and hold CTRL and click the original image to load it’s selection. In the new layer fill the selection with white and nudge the layer slightly to the side, like so.

11)Put a drop shadow in this layer with the angle depending on your image.

12)Take this base from the set My Urban Sound Base set and place it on top of all the layer setting the blending to Darken.

13)Add a little scribble using [info]tsukicon brushset and a light texture from [info]iconistas setting this as screen.

14)To finish it off I like to add a splash of red like a tag so create a small rectangle and Some letters or something in white.
